Hoy, 27 de Mayo, ha sido el día elegido por LG para presentar el que será su buque insignia por unos cuantos meses, el LG G3. Después de muchas semanas de rumores, filtraciones y pilladas, ya os podemos dar toda la información oficial sobre este verdadero ‘monstruo’, en el buen sentido ;), que ya estamos esperando caiga en nuestras manos y que como podréis imaginar, entrará en liza directa contra el el HTC One M8, el Samsung Galaxy S5 y el Sony Xperia Z2. Dejamos de lado el futurible Galaxy Note 4, que sería presentado en septiembre según los últimos rumores y queda algo lejos aún.

Londres ha sido la ciudad elegida por la empresa Coreana para dar a conocer este verdadero gigante con pantalla de 5.5” con resolución de 2560 x 1440 píxeles o QHD, la primera de su categoría. Además, el LG G3 destaca también por otros detalles como su cámara trasera de 13 MP con OIS (Estabilizador Óptico de Imagen) y un novedoso sistema de enfoque asistido por laser, sí, como lo leéis, usa un sistema de enfoque por laser. Obviamente no todo va a ser fuerza bruta y por ello el Lg G3 viene acompañado de un software a la altura, como el conocido sistema de bloqueo/desbloqueo KnockCode. Pero lo mejor es que os pongamos sus especificaciones y después entremos algo más de lleno en sus funcionalidades y características:

PANTALLA QUADHD

LG apuesta por la nitidez y para ello a incluido en su nuevo LG G3 una pantala IPS de 5.5″ QUADHD o lo que es lo mismo de unos impresionantes 2560 x 1440 pixeles de resolución y 538 PPI que alcanza un ratio de pantalla de un 76,4 por ciento respecto al tamaño del smartphone.

13 MP, OIS+ Y ENFOQUE CON LASER

Posee una cámara de 13MP con estabilizador de imagen OIS+ además de apoyarse en un sensor Láser para el enfoque que le permite enfocar en tan solo 0’27 segundos, incluso con poca luz. El flash esta formado por dos diodos LED o lo que es lo mismo, es DualFlash.

Los aficionados a los selfies no han sido olvidados por LG que incluye diversas funcionalidades especificas para las ‘auto-fotos’.

Por último, su tecnología Boost AMP con 1W de potencia en su altavoz trasero permite disfrutar de los vídeos y la música con un sonido más intenso y unos tonos más limpios.

DISEÑO

De forma arqueada, el G3 es un smartphone ergonómico y delgado que permite un cómodo agarre durante el uso diario. El botón trasero sigue siendo una de las señas de identidad del LG G3, con un nuevo diseño más integrado de las teclas de encendido y volumen, junto con una gran calidad de los materiales y acabados más premium. Su elegante acabado en metal pulido, hace que este nuevo smartphone mantenga un aspecto limpio y libre de huellas. El LG G3 llega al mercado en tres colores: negro metalizado, blanco nacarado y oro (tambien se han visto los colores Moon Violet (violeta), Burgundy Red (rojo) aunque no sabemos si llegarán a nuestro país.

Para complementar su diseño exterior, LG ha apostado por una interfaz de usuario minimalista con una gráfica más limpia. El motivo circular de la nueva interfaz de usuario proviene de la forma del logo de LG, que refleja su estilo visual y una identidad únicos.

EXPERIENCIA DE USO

El nuevo LG G3 nos ofrece una experiencia de uso diferente a cualquier otro teléfono:

Smart Keyboard: La tecnología adaptativa aprende, a medida que escribimos, para aportar entradas más rápido y con menos errores. El teclado inteligente reduce las entradas erróneas hasta en un 75 por ciento, ya que almacena y analiza los hábitos de escritura. Además, de forma intuitiva, el teclado sabe qué palabra queremos emplear. Por otro lado, la altura del teclado puede ajustarse para adaptarse mejor a la altura de nuestras manos y a la posición de los pulgares. Por último, las teclas individuales pueden personalizarse con símbolos de uso frecuente para escribir más rápido.

Smart Notice: Como si fuese un asistente personal, Smart Notice realiza sugerencias y recomendaciones en función de nuestro comportamiento, uso del teléfono y ubicación. De esta forma, ofrece la información cuando más la necesitamos. Smart Notice recuerda, por ejemplo, una llamada que se rechazó anteriormente y pregunta si se quiere devolver la llamada. Si se tiene un gran número de archivos o aplicaciones que no se usan, pero que ocupan un espacio importante, Smart Notice pregunta si se desea eliminarlos o desinstalarlos. Aunque lo que hace que Smart Notice sea diferente es su capacidad de lenguaje más natural. En este sentido, además de mostrar en la pantalla la temperatura del día o la previsión del tiempo, Smart Notice hace una recomendación, por ejemplo, “Tal vez deberías llevarte hoy un paraguas, ya que va a llover por la tarde”.

Smart Security: Ante la importancia de mantener, de forma segura, datos confidenciales cuando se comparte, se pierde o se roba un smartphone, el LG G3 cuenta con una serie de funcionalidades mejoradas y relacionadas con la seguridad:

Knock Code permite activar la pantalla y desbloquear su dispositivo con una secuencia de toques. Con esta funcionalidad podemos crear un código personalizado que se puede introducir en cualquier parte de la pantalla. Con el G3 se tiene la posibilidad de usar el KnockON para encender la pantalla para consultar la hora, así como acceder al menú principal directamente a través del  Knock Code.

Content Lock mantiene seguros y ocultos los archivos cuando se comparte el G3 con amigos. Cuando se conecta el terminal al ordenador, Content Lock evita la vista preliminar de los archivos por lo que la información se mantiene segura. Los archivos bloqueados pueden estar tanto en la memoria interna del G3, como en la tarjeta microSD.

Kill Switch permite inutilizar a distancia el G3 en caso de robo. Kill Switch permite borrar información personal comprometedora. Además, incluye el análisis antivirus, así como borrar y bloquear la información a distancia.

LOS ACCESORIOS

Funda QuickCircle: Disponible en tres colores, la funda QuickCircle permite acceder fácilmente a aquellas funcionalidades más frecuentes. Por ejemplo, realización de llamadas, mensajería, música y cámara. Además de la funda QuickCircle Case, LG ofrecerá una serie de delgadas fundas protectoras y fundas rígidas de gama alta. Todo ello para proteger al nuevo G3 de una forma elegante.

LG Tone Infinim (HBS-900): Desarrollado en colaboración con Harman/Kardon, los auriculares estéreo Bluetooth proporcionan un sonido de alta calidad sin renunciar al diseño. Además, Tone Infinim cuenta con un sistema de recogida de cables retráctil. Por último, la funcionalidad Name Alert avisa de forma verbal quién llama por teléfono antes de que responda el usuario.

Cargador inalámbrico: Compacto y plegable, este cargador inalámbrico de LG es perfecto para llevarlo a cualquier parte. Compatible con la tecnología Qi, este cargador permite la carga de forma más cómoda posible.

True-to-Life Viewing Experience

LG’s reputation in the display arena is second to none and the development of the G3’s breathtaking Quad HD displaywas the result of years of innovation in display technology. With a pixel density of 538ppi, the G3’s Quad HD display sets new viewing standard producing images that are sharper and clearer than traditional smartphone displays. At 5.5-inches, LG G3 boasts a screen ratio of 76.4 percent with thin bezels all around so the phone feels as comfortable in the hand as a smaller traditional smartphone.

The high resolution display on the G3 also required LG engineers to pair it with battery technology that was just as innovative. LG equipped the G3 with a 3,000mAh removable battery and advanced optimization technologies to further maximize battery efficiency. By replacing the metal in the battery cathode with graphite, LG engineers were able to extend the lifespan of the G3’s battery. The result is a battery that can keep up with the Quad HD display’s ultra-high performance without losing steam in the middle of the day.

Simply Captivating

The G3’s advanced 13MP OIS+ camera is designed to quickly and easily capture life’s special moments as they occur, not necessarily when you want them to occur. This is made possible with G3’s innovative Laser Auto Focus, the first of its kind in the smartphone industry. This technology enables the G3 to capture the best moment ― even in low light ― by measuring the distance between the subject and the camera using a laser beam. So no more fuzzy pictures of your son scoring his first football goal and or missed shots because your camera couldn’t decide quickly enough which toddler in the playground to focus on. Combined with the proven and popular OIS+ technology first seen in the G Pro 2, the G3 is sure to impress even the most discerning shutterbugs.

LG also simplified the process of actually capturing those special moments. Rather than having to focus on the subject in preview mode and then pressing the shutter button, with the G3, tapping the subject to focus will simultaneously also trigger the shutter. What’s more, the G3’s 2.1MP front camera incorporates several new enhancements such as a larger image sensor and larger aperture for more light throughput and better-looking selfies. A unique twist has been added to the standard timed selfie mode by incorporating gesture controls ― when ready to shoot, simply clench your hand into a fist and the G3 will recognize the gesture and begin the automatic three-second countdown. It couldn’t get any simpler than that.

For video, the G3 offers superior sound quality with instinctive microphones that measure the environment to identify the optimal audio level for the clearest recording. And with the built-in 1W speaker with Boost AMP, users can enjoyvideos and music accompanied by richer sounds and clearer tones.

Balanced and Simplified Design Language

The Floating Arc design of the G3 with its ergonomic arch and slim side profile provides an extremely comfortable grip for everyday one-handed use. The Rear Key continues to anchor LG’s innovative design language, with a newly designed power key and volume buttons as well as more premium quality materials and finish. LG also refined sophisticated technical features and advancements located on the rear by arranging them in a clean and singular layout consistent with the G3’s well-balanced design language. The stylish metallic skin with matte finish which keeps the G3 looking clean and fingerprint-free will be offered in five vibrant colors: Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, MoonViolet and Burgundy Red.

To complement the new external design, LG adopted a minimalistic user interface design with flat graphics. The circular motif of the graphic assets in the new UI was derived from the shape and concept of LG’s logo, reflecting its unique visual style and identity.

Simplified UX to Reflect Simple Pleasures

In addition to the advanced core technologies, LG took its Learning from Youapproach to a higher level with new UX features to offer G3 users a unique experience unlike any previous LG smartphone. Highlights include:

● Smart Keyboard: Adaptive technology learns as you type for faster input with less mistakes. Smart Keyboard reduces input errors by up to 75 percent by tracking and analyzing typing habits and intuitively “knowing” what word the user intended to type. The height of the keyboard can also be adjusted to better fit the user’s hands and position of the thumbs. Individual keys can also be customized with frequently used symbols for even faster input.

● Smart Notice: Like a personal assistant, Smart Notice provides suggestions and recommendations based on user behavior, phone usage patterns and location to offer user information when it’s needed the most. Smart Notice can remind you of a call you declined earlier and ask if you would like to call that person back. If you have a large number of unused files or apps on the G3 taking up valuable space, Smart Notice will ask if you would like to delete or uninstall them. But what sets Smart Notice apart from other personal assistants is its natural language capabilities. For example, instead of just displaying today’s temperature and weather forecast, Smart Notice will make a recommendation such as, “You may want to take an umbrella today since it will rain this evening.”

● Smart Security: Understanding the importance of maintaining and securing confidential data when smartphones are shared, misplaced, lost or stolen, the LG G3 offers a number of enhanced security features such as:

Knock CodeTM enables users to unlock their device with a pattern of taps. Merging security and convenience, users can create a personalized code that can be entered anywhere on the screen. With the G3, users have the option of being able to use KnockON to wake the screen to check the time as well as enter the home screen directly via Knock CodeTM.

Content Lock keeps personal files safe and hidden from view when sharing the G3 with friends. When the G3 is connected to a PC, Content Lock prevents file previews so the data is still safe. The locked files can reside either on the G3’s internal memory or on the microSD card.

Kill Switch gives G3 owners the ability to disable their phones remotely in the event of theft. The Kill Switch also allowscontent on the G3 to be wiped so personal information won’t be compromised. Kill Switch also includes antivirusscanning and remote wipe and lock, among other essential features.

LG will also be offering a collection of new premium accessories to accompany the LG G3:

● QuickCircleTM Case: Available in five colors, QuickCircleTM Case allows easy access to frequently used functionssuch as calling, text messaging, music and camera all from the QuickCircle window without opening the cover. In addition to the QuickCircleTM Case, LG will offer a lineup of Slim Guard Cases and premium Slim Hard Cases to protect the G3 in handsome style.
